arcadia gardens – empty dreams

July 24, 2011

Beginning it’s roots in 2009 as Caveman Dan, Arcadia Gardens, the solo project of Daniel Rutstrom, has evolved into a glowing dream pop outfit. The drum machine switches shakers from left to right, backed by sampled gazes makes for a developed, surrounded feel. Surf twangs and drawn-out sighs fill the empty spaces. There is still an exorbitant amount of room to expand on his sound, but, for what it is, Empty Dreams has a nice touch to it.
