tourist – ‘placid acid’

February 6, 2012

The first thing that come to mind when putting on Tourist‘s electronic doozy of a jam ‘Placid Acid’ is simply an expression of interest. Fit for a hallucinogenic king of pop tunes, the first single from Brighton producer William Philips is professionally packaged with grace in its composition and power in its delivery, pumping energy through ever cylinder and creating something wonderful.

Aside from releasing a handful of laid back reworks of some killer tracks from 2010 – I’m still a sucker for what Memory Tapes did with ‘Bicycle’ – ‘Placid Acid’ sits on top, alone, and waiting for a backing force from this spot-on generator of lush vibrations and silk-clad synths.
